Prayer and Fasting 2016 Day 5 - A people who walk in love

Day 5 – A people who walk in love

Ephesians 3:14-21   Paul's prayer for sons and daughters to be brought into a profound relationship with the love of Jesus that opens the way to all that God is and has
  • Where does our new identity lie? We are in the Father's family and have His name
  • What would the Father grant to us through the riches of His glory? To be strengthened with power in the inner man; to be rooted  and grounded/established/have a foundation in love
  • Our relationship with His love determines our ability to grasp and operate in everything else that has been given to us. It is the doorway to be filled with all that God is (just as Jesus was) and represent Him in the earth realm.
  • We are to "know" this love by experience through the life of Jesus in us, not by natural intellectual process. It comes by our faith response to what He has made available.
  • Walking in this love positions us to experience the "exceeding abundantly beyond dimensions of God in us and through us to others.
1 John 4:15-17   A true relationship with God is primarily marked by our knowledge and experience of His love for us
  • Do we really know God and what this life is about if we do not know this essence/nature of God? God is (not "has") love!
  • So to abide in/dwell in/experience/walk in/ fellowship with/cohabitate with/represent God requires relating to His love in the fullest capacity
  • The more we enter into the reality of His love, the more we have of God in nature, understanding and ability.
  • We are called to the pursuit of His love being perfected/completed in every part of our being and consciousness and expression of ourselves in this world.
  • “As He is” (in His love) should define who we are and how our lives interface with the world.
John 14:7-12   The results of abiding in the Father's love
  • What does Jesus claim about Himself regarding His life and work in the world? I fully represent the Father. When you see me, you see the full expression of the Father.
  • Do we need this as we live here in the earth? Is this possible for us to walk in?
  • What does Jesus prophesy about us as we believe and abide in His love?
John 5:18-20   Jesus gives us the key to His ministry
  • How does Jesus describe the source of His works?
  • What is the foundation of how this happens? The Father loves the son
  • What is Jesus' expectation of what the Father wants to give Him and do through Him?
  • Will the world marvel just at the works of His Father?
John 13:34-35   Jesus reveals the key to the world knowing the reality of God living in us and through us
  • What is the new command He gives to us who have received His love?
  • What is the measurement of how we are to love each other?
  • Are we called to reveal to the world the supernatural nature and effect of God's love?
  • How might this change how the world sees the church today? How might impact evangelism?
1 Corinthians 13   The Apostle Paul describes what love looks like between us and God and between people so we can know if we are understanding this love and truly expressing it in the world
How will being immersed in God's love change your life this year?
Are you willing to ask for more so that you might become like Him?
Are we willing to examine our lack of love for others and the need for change?
Are we willing to pray: Lord, teach me how to love people as you love them! I want to be filled to all the fullness of God. I want people to see you when they see me.
